After more than two decades in the game, Avril Lavigne is finally playing Vans Warped Tour.
The Canadian pop-punk icon has been announced for the festival’s Washington, D.C. stop on June 14-15, marking her first-ever appearance on the legendary tour.
Lavigne broke the news with a video on social media, showing her receiving a cake with the Warped Tour date written in icing. “Warped Tour’s coming back!” she says in the clip. “That’s right, let’s celebrate. See you soon, D.C.”
Despite being one of the biggest names in early 2000s pop-punk, Lavigne never played Warped Tour during its original run. In a statement to Rolling Stone, she explained why she’s excited to finally be part of it. “So many of the bands I grew up listening to got their start playing this legendary tour, and many of my friends are nostalgic for those parking lot summers. I’m excited to be a part of this new rendition.”
The 2025 Vans Warped Tour is making its return with a three-stop festival run. After Washington, D.C., the festival moves to Long Beach, CA, on July 26-27, before wrapping up in Orlando, FL, on November 15-16.
Alongside Lavigne, the lineup features a stacked mix of pop-punk, emo, and hardcore acts. These include 311, Simple Plan, Bowling for Soup, Pennywise and many more. Not every band will play every date, so fans are encouraged to check WarpedTour.com for the full schedule.
Tickets for Washington, D.C., and Long Beach are already sold out, with only waitlist options available. Orlando remains the only stop with tickets still up for grabs. Tickets can be accessed here.
For Warped Tour diehards, this moment has been a long time coming. Two decades later, Lavigne is finally getting her Warped moment—even if it took a festival revival to make it happen.
