Axl Rose Walks Off Stage After Throwing Mic During Guns N’ Roses Show in Argentina

Axl Rose stormed off during Guns N’ Roses’ second Buenos Aires show, throwing his microphone and reportedly kicking Isaac Carpenter’s bass drum.

Axl Rose appeared to lose his temper during Guns N’ Roses’ second show in Buenos Aires over the weekend, hurling his microphone at drummer Isaac Carpenter’s kit and briefly walking off stage.

The incident took place on Saturday, October 18, during the band’s performance at Estadio Huracán, marking the second of two nights in the Argentinian capital. Carpenter joined Guns N’ Roses earlier this year, replacing longtime drummer Frank Ferrer in March.

Midway through the opening song ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, Axl Rose appeared visibly frustrated. After finishing the chorus, he threw his microphone at the drum kit, took off his leather jacket, and exited the stage. Fans captured footage of the moment, in which Rose can be heard saying, “So, I’ll just try and wing this,” before walking off.

Audience members at the show reported that Rose’s earpiece and microphone appeared “messed up” during the set. He was reportedly seen signalling to sound engineers before the outburst. Despite the rocky start, the band went on to complete the full set.

NME noted that Rose later kicked the bass drum during the same show, though it remains unclear whether his frustration was directed at the sound crew or his bandmates. At the time of writing, neither Axl Rose nor Guns N’ Roses have publicly commented on the incident.

While Axl Rose has a long history of unpredictable on-stage behavior, the singer has maintained a calmer presence since reuniting with Slash and Duff McKagan in 2015. His last major controversy came in December 2022, when a fan was injured by a microphone he tossed into the crowd during a show in Adelaide, Australia.

Following that incident, Rose announced that he would stop throwing microphones at concerts altogether. “If true, obviously we don’t want anyone getting hurt or to somehow in any way hurt anyone at any of our shows anywhere,” he wrote at the time. “Regardless, in the interest of public safety from now on, we’ll refrain from tossing the mic or anything to fans during or at our performances.”
