Ball Park Music Announce A Very Special One Off Show at Sydney’s Metro Theatre

Ball Park Music are returning to Sydney on May 31 for a very special one-night-only show.

The Brisbane favourites have just announced a special performance at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Saturday, May 31. There they will be playing their latest album Like Love in full. It’s a rare deep dive into the band’s newest material and promises to be a standout moment.

Although they proudly rep the Sunshine State, Ball Park Music have a long-standing affection for Sydney. In a recent interview with Blunt Magazine, the band shared that Like Love was actually recorded in Marrickville, giving the upcoming gig a kind of full-circle energy. “It felt like everything was fitting right into place,” frontman Sam Cromack said of the process. It’s a sentiment that should hit even harder when those songs are brought back to the place they were born.

Like Love, which recently debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, is the band’s most confident work to date. It’s full of sharp melodies, bittersweet turns, and those signature BPM choruses that somehow always feel like an inside joke and a gut-punch at the same time.

In the meantime, the band are warming up in front of some of the biggest crowds of their career. They were recently announced as special guests on Oasis’ long-awaited Australian reunion tour. It’s a support slot of that size is no small feat. But for a band like Ball Park Music, who’ve spent the last decade building a discography of perfectly formed, universally loved anthems, it feels like a well-earned full circle moment of their own.

Tickets for the Metro Theatre show are on sale tomorrow at 9:00am. Tickets can be purchased here.

Like Love has been living rent-free in your brain for the last few months, now’s your chance to hear it in the city it came from. I wouldn’t wait, this will sell out.
