Billy Corgan Cancels Good Things 2024 Sideshows in Melbourne and Adelaide

Billy Corgan, the iconic frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, has cancelled two of his highly anticipated Good Things 2024 sideshows in Australia.

He had planned to perform on Sunday, 1 December at Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide and Tuesday, 3 December at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne. The Delta Riggs were set to join him as his backing band. However, ticketing platforms now list the shows as cancelled. Neither Corgan nor event organisers have explained why.

Adding to the uncertainty, the Sydney sideshow at the Enmore Theatre, scheduled for Wednesday, 4 December, remains unconfirmed. Fans are left speculating, with no updates or announcements.

The cancellations are a blow to fans, especially those who purchased VIP packages. These tickets promised an exclusive acoustic pre-show experience, offering a rare chance to see Corgan up close. The news has left many disappointed.

The Good Things Festival itself remains unaffected. It kicks off on 6 December at Melbourne Showgrounds, continues in Sydney on 7 December, and finishes in Brisbane on 8 December. The festival features a stacked lineup and is expected to draw huge crowds.

This year’s lineup includes headliners Korn, alongside Sum 41 and Violent Femmes. Acts like Electric CallboyMastodon, and Slayer’s Kerry King add even more weight to the bill. Fans will also enjoy sets from The Gaslight AnthemJetThe Living EndL7, and 311. Australian favourites Northlane and The Butterfly Effect round out a lineup packed with variety.

For those hoping to see Corgan outside the festival, the cancellations are disappointing. With no explanation and only cancellations listed on ticketing platforms, fans are left wondering what went wrong.
