British Thrash Metal Icons Onslaught Announce Long-Awaited Australian Debut

Share

It’s been a long time coming, but British thrash metal veterans Onslaught are finally heading to Australia in November 2025. For a band that’s spent four decades pioneering heavy metal and building a global fanbase, it feels almost surreal that this will be their first-ever tour Down Under.

The occasion? A celebration of their Power From Hell 40th anniversary. The 1985 debut isn’t just a thrash milestone—it’s the record that birthed the term “death metal” and sent shockwaves through the genre. And now, Aussie fans get to experience it live, along with tracks spanning Onslaught’s fiery career.

The six-date tour kicks off in Perth on November 14, hitting Adelaide, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. For fans who’ve waited decades, it’s a one-time chance to catch the UK thrash legends before they hang up their touring boots for good.

Onslaught’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Emerging in the mid-’80s, the band became one of the UK’s Big Four of thrash, alongside Sabbat, Xentrix, and Acid Reign. After a turbulent run in the late ’80s, they disbanded in 1991, only to return in 2005 with a vengeance. Their post-reunion output—Killing Peace (2007) through Generation Antichrist (2020)—has kept their name scorching hot on the global stage.

The current lineup sees Rockett joined by Jeff Williams (bass), James Perry (drums), Wayne Dorman (guitar), and Dave Garnett (vocals). “We’re ready to bring the fire to Australia,” Rockett adds.

Tickets are already on sale via yourmatebookings.com. After 40 years, Onslaught are finally making good on a promise to their Aussie fans—and it’s going to be very loud.
