Howard Jones and Adam Dutkiewicz have released Burn Eternal’s debut single, ‘Wounds I’ve Made’, as Killswitch Engage’s Australian tour rolls into Sydney.
The former Killswitch vocalist and the band’s current guitarist have also announced their self-titled debut album, which arrives on Friday, February 26th, 2027 through Metal Blade Records. It contains nine tracks, with pre-orders live now.
The announcement follows last month’s label signing, although the pair had already spent years working on the record. Jones finished recording his vocals in December 2023, with the completed mix confirmed a year later.
Dutkiewicz’s writing goes back even further: “It’s crazy to think that this was one of the first songs I wrote for this project… six years ago!”
Jones describes ‘Wounds I’ve Made’ as a song about owning past mistakes and accepting the changes needed to move forward, including recognising when a relationship has run its course.

The single features studio drums from Times Of Grace’s Dan Gluszak and opens the album, ahead of songs including ‘No Escape’, ‘Blackheart’ and ‘Learning To Let Go’. ‘Born Again’ and ‘Fell Silent’ close the record, which is available to pre-order in several vinyl editions.
Jones fronted Killswitch from 2002 to 2012, recording The End Of Heartache and As Daylight Dies alongside Dutkiewicz. Their recording history continued after his departure, with Jones returning to share vocals with Jesse Leach on 2019’s ‘The Signal Fire’.
For Australian fans, Burn Eternal’s arrival coincides with Killswitch’s current tour alongside Sylosis and Heists. Dutkiewicz is due at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre tonight, Friday, before shows in Wollongong, Melbourne, Adelaide and Fremantle.
Earlier this week, BLUNT’s Brisbane coverage captured him taking his guitar into the crowd at Fortitude Music Hall, while Leach joined the crowd surfers during the band’s 75 minute set.
There are two Melbourne dates still to come, on November 9th and 10th, before the run finishes at Metropolis Fremantle on Saturday, November 14th. Remaining tickets and show details are available through SBM Presents.
