American aggrotech/ industrial metal band Combichrist are set to head back down our way in September 2025. I have no doubt they will come armed with new material and a tighter live unit.
But more than anything, they will have the same industrial rage that’s kept them a dominant force in the metal scene for two decades now.
Last year, the Norwegian-American crew dropped their tenth record, CMBCRST. It’s a jagged, snarling reminder that they’re still sharpening their blades after all this time. Upon first listening, the album plays like a war cry. It stitches together electronics and metal with the kind of aggression that’s always defined their sound. It’s not a reinvention, it’s a refinement.
Live, it’s going to be a full sensory assault. Andy LaPlegua leads a five-piece lineup that’s locked in and feral. Guitarist Eric13, keyboardist Elliott Berlin, drummer Dane White, and guitarist Jamie Cronander bring the grit. It’s chaotic, sure—but it’s calculated chaos, delivered with full-body intent. Anyone who’s caught them live knows they don’t half-step. And anyone who hasn’t? I would brace yourself. Perhaps even go to some local intense metal gigs for practice.
Combichrist’s return to Australia—fittingly titled the Down and Under Again tour—hits Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne across three nights. So if I were you I would expect pits, noise and a reminder of why they remain one of industrial music’s most uncompromising live acts. I mean, watch the footage below.
Early bird tickets drop Thursday 27 March via Hardline Media. No booking fees, limited numbers, and cheaper than waiting around. General sale follows on Monday 31 March. There’s also a VIP package if you’re keen to get face-to-face and walk away with some signed gear.
Three dates. No fluff. Just loud, relentless music built to shake the walls.
