Cradle Of Filth Announce New Album The Screaming Of The Valkyries – Ed Sheeran Collab Still in Limbo

Dani Filth has confirmed Cradle of Filth’s next album, The Screaming Of The Valkyries, will drop in early April. Featuring nine tracks with nods to Midian and Dusk… And Her Embrace, the record promises a return to form.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Filth revealed the album is all killer, no filler. “It’s not a concept album,” he said. “No intros, no outros, no guest spots—just nine proper Cradle songs.” The production, handled by Scott Atkins, is described as “brilliant,” and fans can expect their trademark mix of atmosphere and chaos.

But here’s the catch: the long-rumoured Ed Sheeran collaboration still isn’t making its debut. According to Filth, the song is finished and “fucking fantastic,” but it won’t appear on this record. “We didn’t want it to overshadow the album,” he explained. “It’s mixed and ready, but we’re not sure when it’ll come out.”

For those still curious, Dani gave a taste of what the track sounds like. “It’s a blend of both worlds,” he teased. “Acoustic guitar, very Ed Sheeran, but flip it over, and it’s unmistakably Cradle. Blast beats, screaming—it’s catchy, though.” While the Sheeran track remains shelved, Filth insists it will see the light of day eventually. “Only a handful of people have heard it. Not even my mum has heard it,” he joked.

Back to the album: The Screaming Of The Valkyries is apparently pure Cradle, with no distractions or gimmicks. “We can’t write short songs to save our lives,” Filth admitted. “It’s a long album, but it’s all substance, no fluff.”

With their 14th studio album on the horizon, Cradle of Filth is doubling down on what they do best. For fans of their earlier work, this is shaping up to be a love letter to the band’s roots. And for those waiting for the Sheeran collaboration? Hold tight—it’s “a good marriage,” according to Filth. Until then, sharpen your claws and prepare for April. The Valkyries are screaming, and Cradle is ready to lead the charge.
