Croatian singer Thompson is on track to break the record for the most tickets ever sold to a single concert.
The upcoming show will take place at Zagreb’s Hippodrome on July 5 and has already moved over 281,000 tickets. The outdoor venue is being transformed into what could become the largest concert site in live music history.
For context, the current record belongs to Italian rock icon Vasco Rossi, whose 2017 show in Modena drew 225,173 people. If Perković’s numbers hold, that title is about to change hands.
Demand for the concert has been staggering. According to ticketing company Entrio, over 130,000 tickets were snapped up in the first six hours of sales on March 28. Their engineering team reportedly worked around the clock—nearly 30 hours straight—to manage the surge.
The Hippodrome has played host to large-scale shows before. This includes The Rolling Stones in 1998, who pulled around 80,000 for their Bridges To Babylon tour. But this event looks to be on another level.
Entrio has called it “one of the most complex ticket sales for a single concert in the world,” and Perković’s team is reportedly already in discussions about adding a second date due to the overwhelming demand.
Thompson has long been a major figure in the Balkans, known for mixing rock and folk elements with patriotic themes that resonate deeply in Croatia. But this show marks a new peak, not just for him, but for global live music stats.
If confirmed, the attendance would not only make it the biggest show in Croatian history, but the most attended ticketed concert ever.
No record is official until the crowd shows up. But, at this rate, July 5 in Zagreb could go down as one of the most historic nights in live music.
