Disturbed could have new music ready by the time they return to Australia and New Zealand next year, with guitarist Dan Donegan revealing the band have already recorded material for their next album.
The metal heavyweights announced their first Australian and New Zealand headline tour in over a decade this week, but fans might have something new to listen to before the shows kick off in Auckland in April.
Speaking with Australia’s The Rockpit, Donegan confirmed the band have recorded their next album and are now working out when to release it.
“I’m hoping that we can have new music, at least a single or something, out before we come over there,” Donegan explained.
The band are aiming to release the album in 2027, although there’s no confirmed date just yet.
Some of the material could also sound familiar to anyone who’s followed Disturbed since the beginning.
Donegan has been digging through old rehearsal recordings from the late 1990s, revisiting riffs the band captured on cassette tapes before the release of their debut album, The Sickness, in 2000.
Rather than leave those ideas gathering dust, he’s been looking at ways to bring them into the band’s current sound. At least one of those early riffs could end up on the new record.

There’s a neat connection to next year’s Australia and New Zealand shows, which begin in Auckland on April 22nd before moving to Christchurch and five Australian cities. Disturbed will be revisiting the album that started it all.
Their The Sickness & Greatest Hits tour will feature two sets each night. First up, the band will perform The Sickness in full, before returning for a collection of songs spanning the rest of their career.
It means fans across Australia and New Zealand will get to hear the record that gave them ‘Down With The Sickness’ and ‘Stupify’ from start to finish, alongside favourites from the albums that followed.
Donegan hasn’t confirmed whether any unreleased material will make it into the live shows, but he’s clearly keen for fans to hear something before the band arrives.
Disturbed’s last studio album, Divisive, was released in 2022. Their most recent standalone single, ‘I Will Not Break’, arrived in February last year.
