Drake Teases His Next ‘Uneasy’ Chapter

Drake has started teasing his “next chapter,” hinting at something that might shake up the rap world. Taking to Instagram, he posted a cryptic message that has fans and critics speculating about what comes next.

“U know I grew up non-confrontational and always treated this game as a sport where my pen won gold, but these days the podium has been hard for all of us to ignore,” Drake wrote. He added, “I understand that this next chapter may leave you feeling uneasy, but I hope you see my honesty as clarity not charity that answers some questions, especially about the unanswered texts you’ve been sending me.”

The message has left many wondering if this is a veiled shot at Kendrick Lamar, given their long-standing tension. Last August, Drake teased a potential “round two” in their feud, though nothing materialised.

Drake has kept himself busy over the past few months. He recently collaborated with PartyNextDoor on $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, released on Valentine’s Day. He also kicked off his first Australian and New Zealand tour in eight years, only to cancel the final four shows due to “scheduling conflicts.” Days later, he was spotted front-row at WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in Toronto, sparking further speculation about the real reason behind the cancellations.

Adding to his recent turbulence, Drake settled his payola dispute with iHeartMedia and iHeartRadio last week. In November, he accused the companies of receiving “covert payments” from Universal Music Group to push Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us. In January, he launched a separate defamation lawsuit against UMG, alleging they knowingly approved the song despite its lyrics accusing Drake and his peers of predatory behaviour. He has since dropped key allegations from the case, with UMG facing a March 17 deadline to file for dismissal.

Meanwhile, Lamar’s Not Like Us has continued to dominate, breaking streaming records and sweeping five Grammys. With tensions between the two still simmering, Drake’s “next chapter” could be the next major shake-up in hip-hop, who knows.
