The Ask That God: Afterlife Tour will hit five Australian cities and Auckland and is billing as the band’s biggest tour of the region yet.
Empire Of The Sun are bringing the Emperor home in 2027, announcing a six-date Australia and New Zealand run for their Ask That God: Afterlife Tour.
The tour opens at Auckland’s Spark Arena on February 19 before crossing the Tasman for shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, then wrapping up at Perth’s RAC Arena on March 6. Frontier Touring says it will be the band’s largest tour of Australia and New Zealand to date.
There is some serious momentum behind the return. According to Frontier, Empire Of The Sun have sold more than 400,000 tickets worldwide since the Ask That God tour began in 2024. Australian fans last caught that show the same year; this visit brings a reimagined production billed as the final live instalment of the Ask That God journey.
Luke Steele is keeping the specifics loose, but his ambitions for the show are fairly clear.
“Ask That God: Afterlife feels like a tour of unknowns and possibilities, new visions, new plateaus, fragile breakthroughs. I think things are going to happen on this tour that have never happened before. We can’t wait to take this music and this tour to new frontiers. Let’s break barriers together.”
The announcement promises a production built around the colour, scale and theatricality of Empire Of The Sun’s live shows. With stops at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, there will be plenty of room for Steele’s Emperor to stretch out.
Created by Steele and Nick Littlemore, Empire Of The Sun broke through with “Walking On A Dream” and “We Are The People”, later adding “Alive” and “High and Low” to their catalogue. Their 2024 album Ask That God arrived eight years after Two Vines, featuring “Changes”, “Music on the Radio” and “Cherry Blossom”.
Frontier Members can access presale tickets from Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 1pm local time, with the presale running for 48 hours or until its allocation is exhausted. General tickets go on sale Friday, September 18, 2026 at 2pm local time through Frontier Touring. All shows are licensed and all ages.
