Fans Decode My Chemical Romance’s Onstage Clues For Possible New Music Release

Share

My Chemical Romance fans think hidden stage props on their current tour point to new music dropping later this year.

The tinfoil hats are well and truly on: My Chemical Romance fans are convinced the band is planting clues about when new music will arrive, thanks to props and details woven into their ongoing Long Live: The Black Parade North American Tour.

The biggest theory comes from a stage prop used during the nightly retelling of The Black Parade. As part of the show, each My Chemical Romance member clocks in for their shift as the fictional group The Black Parade, using a faux time clock.

At the August 29 stop at Soldier Field in Chicago, a close-up shot of the prop revealed the clock set to 12:12. On Reddit, fans quickly speculated this could hint at a December 12 release date for new My Chemical Romance music. The fact that December 12 lands on a Friday this year – the industry’s standard day for releasing new music – has only fuelled the theory further.

This isn’t the first time fans have suspected hidden clues. During the tour, Gerard Way drinks from a large flask covered in Keposhka, the fictional language of Draag created for the tour. According to fans who claim to have cracked the code, the text reads:

MCR
G. Way
101386

While not Way’s birthday – he was born in 1977 – supporters point out that October 13, 1986, fell on the same weekday alignment as October 13, 2025. Both dates land on a Monday, prompting speculation that My Chemical Romance could drop a song or teaser on that day.

With the elaborate storytelling on this tour and small changes from city to city, many fans believe My Chemical Romance are deliberately planting Easter eggs. Between the main performance of The Black Parade and a second set covering tracks from across their discography, eagle-eyed concertgoers have plenty to analyse each night.

So far, MCR has not confirmed any new music (beyond their performance of the unreleased track ‘War Beneath The Rain’ during the tour), but with fans locked into every detail, December – or possibly October – could prove to be more than just theory.
