Fleshwater have released ‘Jetpack’, the lead single from their upcoming album 2000: In Search of Endless Sky releasing in September.
Dreamy alt-rock group Fleshwater has released the song ‘Jetpack’ from their sophomore album, 2000: In Search of Endless Sky, set for release on 5 September 2025 via Closed Casket Activities.
‘Jetpack’ has all the staples of what you’d love from a Fleshwater track: Anthony DiDio and John Lhaubouet’s duelling shoegaze guitar riffs, Marisa Shirar’s soaring vocals and a driving bass line that’ll make you want to break into a full-on sprint.
It’s a surprisingly bleak and dark track for a lead single, however, and is easily some of their most melancholic material yet.
You can listen to the track below:
The band has garnered a massive cult following after the release of their debut album, We’re Not Here to Be Loved, in 2022. What started as a side project from Vein.fm members Didio and drummer Matt Wood has quickly garnered its very own cult following.
Wood would leave the band in 2023, replaced by Josian Omar Soto Ramos.
The success of the album and their reputation of being a killer live act have seen them open as support for heavy hitters like The Mars Volta, Chat Pile, and Deftones.
In 2024, the Massachusetts group would bring their show down to Australia. Originally, they had planned to tour with Citizen and Touche Amore during their March shows; however cancelled due to illness. Thankfully, they still managed to arrange a string of headline shows in November, bringing Brisbane band Sunbleached along for the ride.
Fleshwater are currently touring in the US with Maryland rockers Angel Dust, followed by a supporting tour with Chat Pile.
