A video of a wedding on social media has gone viral thanks to a brutal mosh pit opening up when the band covered Knocked Loose.
First dances and pop bangers at receptions are so overrated: a wedding in Salt Lake City has gone viral after the reception band kicked off a mosh pit with a cover of Knocked Loose’s ‘Mistakes Like Fractures’ and posted it to Instagram.
The performance on July 26 was handled by local band Infernium, who were hired to play the reception by now-newlyweds Jake and Tiffani. Footage shared online by the vocalist Dominick shows the crowd(killing) attendees going off after they launched into the 2019 track from Knocked Loose’s A Different Shade of Blue. Guests jumped, moshed, and circled up around the dance floor, while others looked on and cheered.
Check out the video, first spotted by MetalSucks, below:
A behind-the-scenes video later uploaded to YouTube shows more of the set (including some Turnstile covers in the mix), with one attendee throwing a back flip off the stage as the band played.
Based on the video, the pit continued well into the night (I’d expect more than a few bad backs and dusty attendees the next day). It turns out you can recreate the energy of a hardcore show at a wedding – a question I’d never thought to ask or find the answer for, but here we are.
Infernium, who perform regularly around Salt Lake City, have now picked up wider attention thanks to the clip. The band’s choice to bring heavy music into a wedding setlist offered a break from the usual reception staples – don’t get me wrong, blasting a bit of ‘Mr Brightside’ still goes incredibly hard – and the crowd embraced it fully.
Based on the comments (and the fact plenty of heavy music fans get married), this isn’t the only wedding to open this pit up, though. One user said: “we had a mosh pit to “Wait and Bleed” at my wedding! I slipped on a spilled drink, sprained both my MCLs, and split my suit pants from crotch to back waist-band. 11/10, zero regrets, legendary moment, would rage again.”
If you’re planning a wedding currently, might I suggest considering following suit?
