Sydney’s Manning Bar was a warzone on Sunday night as Paleface Swiss brought their Australian headline show to a sold-out crowd.
Paleface Swiss kicked off with a bang, as a wave of crowd surfers flew overhead before the band had even made it through their opening track. Fans packed shoulder-to-shoulder turned the floor into a battleground, feeding off the relentless breakdowns and raw power that have catapulted Paleface Swiss from European upstarts to global heavyweights.
Hot on the heels of their new record Cursed – which stormed the Spotify Global Charts and cracked the Top 3 in both the US and UK – the Swiss wrecking crew tore into the set like a band with something to prove, and the crowd answered in kind. Every crushing riff hit like a hammer, every guttural roar was shouted right back, and every breakdown brought fresh mayhem in the pit.
Joining the carnage alongside Paleface Swiss were German deathcore veterans Nasty, whose reputation for volatility is well-earned. Their no-holds-barred set primed the room for destruction, matching the intensity of the headliners and leaving no doubt why they’re revered as breakdown masters.
By the time Paleface Swiss closed out, it was clear Sydney had witnessed more than just another tour stop – this was a statement. Australia had waited for their headlining arrival, and the payoff was absolute bedlam.
