Hayley Williams has dropped the music video for ‘Ego Death At A Bacholerette Party’, which was among the 17 tracks she released last week.
Paramore singer Hayley Williams sent her fanbase into a frenzy last week when she surprise-dropped 17 songs. These songs were all stand-alone tracks and not released under the name of an album. Now, she’s just put out the first music video for the track ‘Ego Death At A Bacholerette Party’.
The video is directed by Zachary Gray and follows Williams around her hometown of Nashville. While singing, she dips into Nashville’s tourist traps, dances with locals, and sings karaoke, all while looking disconnected from everything.
You can watch the video below:
The 17 tracks were all recorded by Williams and produced by Daniel James (The Veronicas, Selena Gomez). Long-time collaborators Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard contributed to all tracks. Jim-E Stack also contributed to the track ‘True Believer’ as well. Williams had previously played the track ‘Mirtazapine’ on Nashville public radio station WNXP a few weeks ago. She had also performed the track live during Bleachers’ set at Newport Folk Festival in July.
The chorus of ‘Ice In My OJ’ was also first sung by Williams in the 2004 song ‘Jumping Inside’ by the Mammoth City Messengers.
The 17 songs were previously locked behind a password given to individuals who had bought Williams’ new “Ego” shade of semi-permanent hair dye from her company Good Dye Young. Fans could also access a live performance video from a 2017 show in Phoenix. Williams finally released all 17 tracks to the public on August 1.
This is the third batch of solo material released by Williams, following Williams’ 2021 solo album FLOWERS for VASES/descansos. While Williams isn’t framing these singles as a new solo album, the artist is still pouring everything into its roll-out.
