Ill Niño Announce First Australian Tour in Eight Years with Adema

Ill Niño are making their long-awaited return to Australia, bringing their Latin-infused metal back to local stages for the first time in eight years.

The band, known for blending heavy riffs with Latin percussion and bilingual vocals, will play three dates in September 2025. They will be hitting Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Joining them for the first time in Australia are nu-metal staples Adema, making this a double hit of early 2000s heaviness.

Ill Niño emerged in the early 2000s with Revolution Revolución. Carving out a distinct space in the nu-metal movement by fusing aggressive grooves with Latin rhythms. Tracks like ‘How Can I Live’ and ‘Unreal’ became anthems of the era, pushing them to the forefront of the heavy music scene. Despite lineup changes over the years, the band has maintained a dedicated following. Their latest album IllMortals proved they still have plenty of fire left.

Adema, best known for their 2001 self-titled debut and tracks like ‘Giving In’ and ‘The Way You Like It,’ were one of nu-metal’s cult favourites. While their journey has been anything but smooth, this tour marks their first time in Australia. The band have previously gone through multiple vocalists throughout the years. They have since settled on their lineup. In turn, this makes the performance a rare opportunity for fans who have been waiting since the early 2000s to hear the songs live.

The tour kicks off at Liberty Hall in Sydney before hitting Melbourne’s Max Watt’s and wrapping up at The Triffid in Brisbane. With both bands bringing decades of history, expect a setlist stacked with classics and a night soaked in nostalgia and heavy grooves.
