Iron Maiden’s Adrian Smith Loses Malibu Home to LA Wildfires

Iron Maiden guitarist Adrian Smith has tragically lost his Malibu home to the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. His wife, Nathalie has shared the news online.

“We are safe. We have each other. We will start again. #MalibuStrong,” Nathalie wrote, thanking supporters for their kindness during the difficult time.

As we all know, the wildfires have been devastating. They have forced over 180,000 residents to evacuate and claimed at least 24 lives, with 16 people still missing.

Nathalie had previously shared a video showing smoke creeping over a hill near their home as the family evacuated. In the video, she urged Adrian to check on an elderly neighbour who initially refused to leave. Later, she confirmed the neighbour was safe.

The loss is a devastating blow for Smith, whose home likely served as both a family retreat and creative space for Iron Maiden. It’s a reminder that regardless of your financial situation or status, everyone is on an equal playing field when it comes to dealing with the wildfires.

Smith isn’t the only music figure affected. Legendary recording spaces like Bob Clearmountain’s Mix This! studio have also fallen victim to the flames. The fires have hit hard across the entertainment world, with stars like Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton and DIIV’s Zachary Cole Smith also losing their homes.

The broader LA music scene is already rallying in the wake of the fires. A benefit concert, FireAid, is set to take place on January 30 at the Intuit Dome, with proceeds going toward rebuild efforts and displaced families. While the lineup is yet to be announced, it’s safe to say the LA music community will show up in force.

In true Iron Maiden fashion, the Smiths’ response is one of resilience. Nathalie’s message of rebuilding feels like a rallying cry, echoing the band’s ethos of perseverance through adversity. They will get through this, just like everyone else.
