Kelly Osbourne Thanks Fans for “Love, Support and Beautiful Messages” After Ozzy’s Death

Kelly Osbourne has expressed her gratitude to fans for the outpouring of love and solidarity she’s received since the passing of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

She has since describing the support as a vital source of comfort during what she calls “the hardest moment of my life.”

Ozzy, the inimitable Black Sabbath front man and one of heavy music’s most influential figures, died on 22 July at age 76. His final public appearance was only weeks earlier, as he shared one last bow with his bandmates at the ‘Back To The Beginning’ event in Birmingham, a hometown farewell steeped in sentiment and amplified by decades of cultural legacy.

In a statement shared on Instagram Stories, Kelly admitted that putting words to her grief has been difficult. “I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough,” she wrote. “But from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

She continued, “The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”

Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of grief, Kelly added, “It sneaks up on you in waves. I will not be OK for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

The days following Ozzy’s death have been marked by poignant public tributes. Birmingham came to a standstill last week as thousands lined the streets for his funeral procession, led by Bostin’ Brass performing classic Osbourne tracks. The family paused at the Black Sabbath Bridge, where fans had built an impromptu shrine.

At the memorial, Sharon Osbourne was seen wearing her husband’s ring on a chain, while Kelly, flanked by her siblings Jack and Aimee, wore his signature purple shades. Ozzy was later laid to rest in a private ceremony at his Buckinghamshire estate, surrounded by family and close friends including Elton John, Marilyn Manson, and members of Metallica and Slipknot.
