Linkin Park have dropped their latest single ‘Up From the Bottom’, alongside a new music video directed by the band’s longtime visual architect Joe Hahn.
It’s the first new music from the group since their From Zero comeback album that landed in November of 2024.
The track arrives with some bold words from the band. In an interview with Billboard, Hahn called it “the best song we’ve ever made,” while Mike Shinoda added, “It’s one of the best videos we’ve ever had.”
‘Up From the Bottom’ was first teased in the band’s ongoing LPTV: From Zero docu-series, where Shinoda and new co-vocalist Emily Armstrong were seen working on the track in the studio. It’s one of the first new songs featuring the group’s current lineup, which includes Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain, joining Shinoda, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Hahn. Guitarist Alex Feder is filling in for Brad Delson on tour.
The new single keeps the From Zero momentum rolling, following the release of the stripped-back From Zero – A Cappellas edition in January. It also arrives in the middle of the band’s 2025 world tour, which kicked off January 31 in Mexico City and continues through the US this spring before wrapping in South America in November.
For many fans, this new chapter has been a slow, emotional return. From Zero is the band’s first full-length since 2017’s One More Light—the last to feature Chester Bennington. Shinoda has been open about the challenges of returning to the studio, saying the band let things evolve naturally rather than forcing anything.
But still, the DNA remains. “It does really feel like Linkin Park,” Shinoda told KROQ. “But it’s every era of the band rolled into one.” ‘Up From the Bottom’ is another step forward in this. It’s part tribute but also part reset.
