After years of stone cold silence, thing’s are finally heating up again on the McLusky front. They are finally back.
After two decades, the Welsh noise merchants have announced their first album since 2004—The World Is Still Here And So Are We, out May 9.
For anyone who grew up on their razor-sharp chaos, this is big. McLusky were one of the most biting, brilliant, and flat-out weird bands to emerge from the early 2000s post-hardcore scene. They called it quits in 2005 after three albums, including Mclusky Do Dallas—which, if you know, you know.
Now, they’re picking up where they left off.
The new album comes via indie label Ipecac, home to fellow noise freaks like Mr. Bungle and The Melvins. It includes their 2023 singles Unpopular Parts Of A Pig and The Digger You Deep, plus new tracks with titles as absurd as you’d expect—Kafka-esque Novelist Franz Kafka, The Competent Horse Thief, and Way Of The Exploding Dickhead.
That last one is the lead single, a punchy, sardonic blast named after an old ZX Spectrum game. Frontman Andrew Falkous describes it as “a modern parable, without the parable bit.” In other words, typical McLusky: loud, clever, and taking the piss.
The single arrives with a tongue-in-cheek video, directed by Remy Lamont, and confirms what longtime fans suspected—McLusky haven’t lost their edge.

There’s no word yet on an Australian tour, but given McLusky’s history with cult followings in far-flung places, it wouldn’t be a shock. Until then, it’s time to dust off Mclusky Do Dallas and wait for the chaos to land.
