Morrissey Cancels Remaining 2025 Tour Dates Due To “Extreme Exhaustion”

Share

Former The Smiths singer Morrissey has cancelled all remaining dates on his 2025 tour, sharing he was feeling “extreme exhaustion”.

Babe, wake up – Morrissey has cancelled his tour. Who could have seen this coming??

The former Smiths singer has cancelled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates in South America, including performances in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Santiago, Chile; Lima, Peru and Bogota, Colombia. The artists’ December shows scheduled in Athens, Greece; Istanbul, Turkey; and Ankara, Turkey have also been cancelled.

Morrissey, who once cancelled a show due to the stage being cold, shared in a statement that he was cancelling his tour due to feeling “extreme exhaustion”, which he had said recently to cancel a show in Mexico City as well as a string of shows during his summer European tour.

An announcement on Instagram read: “We are informing the public in Mexico City and Guadalajara that, due to the artist’s extreme exhaustion, Morrissey’s concerts scheduled for October 31st at the Palacio de los Deportes and November 4th at the Auditorio Telmex have been cancelled.”

Earlier this year, in September, two tour dates in Mashantucket, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts were cancelled, with the singer saying that a “credible threat to his life” had been made.

A statement shared via his social channels would read:

“In recent days, there has been a credible threat on Morrissey’s life. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of both the artist and audience, tonight’s engagement at Foxwoods has been cancelled. We appreciate your understanding.”

Later that month, a 26-year-old man from Ottawa, Canada, would separately be released on bail after allegedly making a threat to kill Morrissey at his show in the city.

Morrissey will kickstart his tour cycle in January with shows in the United States. In a cruel twist of irony, these shows would be make-goods, having previously cancelled his dates earlier this year.

Given the singer’s propensity to cancel shows, one can only wonder if Moz will follow through with his plans come next year and honour those make-up dates.
