Mumford & Sons Announce One-Off Sydney Show on Intimate 2025 Tour

Share

Mumford & Sons are coming back to Australia, but not in the way you’d expect.

Instead of arenas or festival slots, they’re playing one intimate show at the Sydney Opera House on March 17 as part of a nine-date world tour.

With just a handful of gigs across the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia, this run is shaping up to be a rare chance to catch them in a much smaller setting than usual. It’s their first headline show in Australia since their 2019 at Splendour in the Grass. Given the intimate venue and limited capacity, tickets definitely won’t last long.

The tour comes ahead of RUSHMERE, their first album in seven years, dropping March 28. It’s also their first release as a trio following Winston Marshall’s departure in 2021. Produced by Dave Cobb, the album was recorded across Nashville, Savannah, and Devon, capturing what Marcus Mumford describes as a sense of “urgency” that pushed them back into the studio.

The tracklist includes Malibou, Monochrome, Truth, and Blood on the Page, which features Madison Cunningham. Their 2024 track Good People, a Pharrell collab, won’t be on the album.

Mumford & Sons have built their reputation on anthemic folk-rock, but really, they’ve always thrived in more intimate settings. This Sydney show should bring them back to that raw energy—closer to the kind of gig where they first made a name for themselves. A dollar from every ticket sold will go to PLUS1 in support of War Child.

With RUSHMERE dropping right after the show, Sydney fans will be among the first to hear new tracks live. Given how rarely Mumford & Sons play small venues anymore, this one won’t be easy to get into. But still, try your luck.

Pre-sale tickets are on sale from February 13, 9am AEDT. General on-sale will start on February 14, 10am AEDT. Tickets can be accessed from here.
