It’s happening again. The My Chemical Romance rumour mill is heating up, this time with fresh fuel in the form of confirmed Southeast Asia dates for April and May 2026, including a Jakarta stop on May 3rd.
That Jakarta date? It’s important. Why? Because if you’ve been following the long running pattern of international tours, bands wrapping up in Asia in late April or early May often swing through Australia next. Think Paramore, blink-182 and even My Chemical Romance themselves in 2023!
Here’s What We Know
A full Southeast Asia leg was just announced, including massive venues in South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia. Most important for us though? The Hammersonic Festival slot in Jakarta.
Add to that the cryptic billboards spotted in Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, one asking ‘Malaysia, are you okay?’ Another in Malay reading ‘dah bersedia?’ (roughly: ‘are you ready?’) and fans quickly made the connection. Roses, glitchy visuals and emotional references? That has My Chemical Romance written all over it, MCR visual language through and through.
While the band hasn’t confirmed any Australian dates yet, the signs are stacking up. They’re already booked for North America in July 2025, then South America in January 2026. Now Asia in April and May! A late May or June 2026 Australian leg fits the puzzle perfectly, and considering they sold out stadiums here in 2023, with multiple dates added due to demand, there’s no way they’re skipping us this time.
For now, fans down under are left reading between the roses and tour posters. The speculation and anticipation is growing, cross those fingers.
