Mystery Band PRESIDENT Remove the Mask In New Single ‘Fearless’

Share

Masked newcomers PRESIDENT have dropped their second single ‘Fearless’, doubling down on their glitchy, arena-ready sound, and possibly unmasking the frontman.

PRESIDENT have returned with their second single, ‘Fearless’ – a pulsing, hyper-polished follow-up to their debut track ‘In the Name of the Father’, which landed just last month.

The new track leans even further into the band’s signature sound: all sharp-edged riffs, machine-slick production, and vocoder-drenched vocals. ‘Fearless’ arrives alongside a sleek music video that ends with the group’s frontman dramatically removing his mask, sparking a fresh wave of speculation online.

Some fans are calling the unmasking a “fakeout”, feeding long-running theories that PRESIDENT may be tied to a bigger act – possibly even Sleep Token, who just so happen to be headlining Download Festival this year, where PRESIDENT are also set to perform.

So far, keen-eyed fans online have yet to discern exactly who the face behind the mask is, and theories seem to pretty consistently point to this being an actor rather than the musician themselves. One user suggested that “the idea is that President could be anybody. The writes lyrics about what we’ve all felt at one point or another.”

The band will hit the Dogtooth Stage at Download on June 15th, a booking that turned heads when it was first announced. At the time, the band had no songs released, just cryptic visuals and a growing online presence.

In the time since, PRESIDENT have started building out their mythos. When debut single ‘In the Name of the Father’ dropped, the band released a statement saying: “Something has been stirring. A growing noise, a ripple through the republic of the underground. We called. You listened. Your curiosity, your questions, your conversation… We have witnessed it all. This is your PRESIDENT. We’ll be seeing you soon. Godspeed.”

The group has also confirmed their first-ever headline show for July 30th at The Garage in London, where answers may (or may not) be revealed. Until then, all eyes remain fixed on the mask, and what might lie behind it.
