Nervosa Withdraw From UK And Ireland Tour As Prika Amaral Takes Medical Break

Nervosa have withdrawn from their UK and Ireland dates with Xentrix while Prika Amaral takes time off for medical treatment.

In statements reported by Theprp on 18 October, Amaral said worsening allergic reactions had prompted her return to Brazil for further investigation and treatment.

“Everything is going to be fine, but I need to take at least two months off, and I need to do it now,” she wrote.

Amaral said touring had delayed follow-up appointments and described cold temperatures among her triggers. She said recent medication had not been fully effective.

Nervosa said their 2027 North American tour remains planned. Amaral also said she intended to return for those dates.

Nervosa had been announced as direct support on Xentrix’s Cross-Atlantic Carnage tour. The November itinerary included Bradford, Manchester, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow, Nottingham, Cardiff, London and Southampton. It was booked to begin at Bradford’s Nightrain on 18 November and finish at Southampton’s The 1865 on 29 November. The announcement concerns Nervosa’s participation in those shows.

Their separately announced North American dates are scheduled across February and March, with Castrator, Embryonic Autopsy and Anger Within appearing on different sections of the tour. That schedule includes US and Canadian shows, beginning in Mesa, Arizona, on 2 February and finishing in Pomona, California, on 20 March. The Canadian dates include Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.

The touring follows Nervosa’s sixth album, Slave Machine, released through Napalm Records on 3 April. The record features 12 tracks and follows 2023’s Jailbreak, the first album with Amaral handling lead vocals as well as guitar. Its production credits name Amaral, Helena Kotina and Martin Furia, with the sessions recorded at Persephonic Studio.

Amaral co-founded Nervosa in 2010. As the band’s official biography records, their debut album, Victim Of Yourself, arrived in 2014 and was followed by their first tours outside Brazil. Guitarist Helena Kotina joined during the lineup changes that preceded Jailbreak.
