NOFX are officially turning their farewell documentary into one final full scale celebration, announcing the release of ‘40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up: Soundtrack + Score’ alongside Australian cinema screenings this July and August.
Arriving Friday, August 28th, the massive double LP serves as the official companion release to the band’s career spanning documentary ‘40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up’, which premiered earlier this year at South by Southwest before landing screenings at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Cannes Film Festival marketplace.
The release itself is split into two distinct halves, a 15 track soundtrack packed with classic NOFX material, rare recordings and unreleased songs, alongside an 11 track orchestral score composed by Fat Mike and collaborator Matt Nasir.
Among the biggest drawcards are two previously unreleased NOFX tracks, ‘40 Years Of Fuckin’ Up’ and ‘We Did It Our Way’, the latter described as the final NOFX song ever intended to be played live.
The collection also includes demos, live recordings and a cover of ‘La Bamba’, alongside a deluxe 24 page retrospective photo book documenting the band’s four-decade run through punk rock history.

Documentary series
Speaking about the documentary screenings, Fat Mike said the band wanted the experience to feel closer to a NOFX show than a traditional cinema release.
“We want our fans to congregate in cool movie theatres that have bars and not a lot of rules,” he explained.
“We want showings of this film to be a celebration. We want it to feel like you’re going to a NOFX show.”
Longtime guitarist El Hefe also reflected on the emotional reaction surrounding the band’s final chapter:
“I had no idea how deep our music ran with people all over the world,” he said.
“Seeing all that love come back to us as we close this chapter, it’s been incredible.”
