nothing,nowhere. announces new album

If you’re a fan of nothing, nowhere. then you already know that there’s pressure on the Vermont artist to maintain the standard of perfection that he’s established with his previous releases. Never one to shy away from a challenge, the man himself has announced that his new record, VOID ETERNAL, will drop at the end of next month, and it doesn’t seem that he’ll be letting up if the singles that he’s unveiled to date are any indication.

To celebrate the announcement, nothing, nowhere. (also known as songwriter, singer and guitarist Joe Mulherin) shared latest cut ‘THIRST4VIOLENCE’, featuring contemporaries Freddie Dredd and Silverstein. Speaking on the track, Mulherin explained: “I learned to channel my sadness into positive aggression. I hope people listen to this track while bettering themselves. Working out, taking a drive to blow off some steam, just getting out and getting shit done.” It was a sentiment he expressed speaking to BLUNT back in 2021 about his previous record Trauma Factory, elaborating that he learned that treatment for his anxiety and depression stemmed from maintaining the self-care activities that worked for him. “I just think that there’s a checklist for me and if I don’t check off every single one, I’ll start to break down.”

Collaborator Shane Told spoke on once again teaming up with Mulherin, adding: “I’ve been a big fan of his work for a long time and this song only took things to another level.  It’s such an honour to be part of another game changing record.” Recorded in his self-built studio, VOID ETERNAL also features Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail, Underoath, Static Dress, SeeYouSpaceCowboy and Will Ramos of Lorna Shore.

“I want to be what bands like Linkin Park were to me,” Mulherin continues. “I want to provide that level of inspiration and comfort and I want to be a safe haven to a kid who is struggling. I made it exactly how I wanted to with zero outside influence. This is the purest expression I could put down in audio form. This is the music that made me, and I want to return the favor.”

VOID ETERNAL is out on March 31 via Fueled By Ramen/DCD2.
