The reunion is real, and Oasis aren’t wasting time rubbing it in our faces – in the best way.
The band have officially released the live version of ‘Slide Away’ from the first night of their Live ’25 tour in Cardiff, and yes, it hits just as hard as it did the first time around.
Captured during their July 4 comeback at Principality Stadium – the first time Liam and Noel Gallagher had shared a stage in 16 years – this rendition of the Definitely Maybe deep cut lands with raw emotion and ragged, roaring nostalgia. It sat deep in the 21-song setlist, following ‘Cast No Shadow’ and before ‘Whatever’, and by the time the first chords dropped, 75,000 people were already fully levitating.
The performance was a moment of clarity in a night full of chaos, catharsis, and classic shit-stirring – from tributes to late Liverpool star Diogo Jota to the Gallaghers’ cheeky jabs at Ticketmaster’s price-gouging circus (which, naturally, they claim to know nothing about).
The new live cut comes with a slick official video too – no filters, no fluff, just two brothers letting it rip on a song that defined their early years. And with Manchester’s Heaton Park next on the itinerary (kicking off July 11), it’s a reminder that this tour isn’t just a victory lap – it’s a full-blown cultural reset.
After Manchester, Oasis hit Wembley for seven nights, then Edinburgh, Dublin, and eventually North America, South America, Australia, Japan and South Korea. It’s the biggest resurrection rock’s seen in years, and they’re leaning all the way in.
In the lead-up to the tour, the Gallaghers also dropped a new Adidas collab, unveiled a Bohemian FC-branded football shirt, and announced a 30th anniversary reissue of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ – complete with stripped-down versions of ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Champagne Supernova’, and more.
But right now, it’s all about ‘Slide Away’. One of their most soul-baring tracks, delivered live by two blokes who somehow made it back to each other. Go listen. Feel something. Manchester, you’re up.
