Opeth have announced a headline tour across Australia and New Zealand in November 2025. The Swedish prog-metal legends will play seven massive shows, including two-hour-plus sets.
The tour marks their return after six years and will feature songs from their upcoming album, The Last Will and Testament.The new album, a concept record, is set to be one of the band’s heaviest releases in years. The Last Will and Testament is a dark, atmospheric journey set in the post-World War I era. It tells the story of a wealthy patriarch’s last will, which uncovers shocking family secrets.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, 14th November at 11:00am AEDT. General public sales begin on Friday, 15th November at 11:00am AEDT. Fans who pre-order The Last Will and Testament, due for release on November 22, 2024, will receive a special pre-sale ticket code.
This is Opeth’s first album since In Cauda Venenum in 2019. The new record celebrates the band’s 30th anniversary and promises to push their blend of progressive rock and death metal even further. Mikael Åkerfeldt, the band’s frontman, calls it a “dream” but warns fans not to expect an instant payoff on first listening.
