Parkway Drive Team Up With Dixxon To Celebrate 15 Years Of Deep Blue

Share

Parkway Drive and Dixxon Flannel Co. are marking 15 years of Deep Blue with a limited-edition flannel collaboration.

To mark 15 years since Parkway Drive unleashed Deep Blue onto the world, the Byron Bay heavyweights have joined forces with cult-favourite apparel brand Dixxon Flannel Co. for a special-edition drop: the Deep Blue flannel.

The collab was announced via Dixxon’s socials today, with the company calling the release a tribute to the “raw energy” and “relentless drive for truth” that defined Parkway’s third album.

“Fifteen years ago, Deep Blue came in like a punch to the chest,” they wrote. “A raw, aggressive soundtrack for working through frustration, anger, and rebuilding.”

The flannel arrives June 25 at 5PM PDT (that’s 10AM AEST on June 26 for local fans) and will be available via the Dixxon app, the brand’s official site, and in-store at the Dixxon Showroom. As per usual with the brand’s music collabs, this one’s a limited run.

Speaking on the ethos of Deep Blue, Parkway frontman Winston McCall is quoted in the announcement saying: “It’s about the search for truth in a world that seems to be devoid of that.” Dixxon added: “Now, we’re channeling that same raw energy into a flannel for those who dig deep, question authority, and fight for what’s real.”

Released in June 2010, Deep Blue remains one of Parkway Drive’s most iconic records. From the crushing breakdowns of ‘Sleepwalker’ to the fan favourite ‘Home Is For The Heartless’, the record saw the band refining their chaos into something more melodic and ambitious. It earned Parkway their first ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album and debuted at #2 on the ARIA Charts.

The collab follows on from last week’s 15th anniversary Dixxon drop for The Amity Affliction’s Youngbloods – suffice to say, June 2010 was a busy month for Aussie heavy music fans.

Following their recent arena dates (as well as a history-making show at the Sydney Opera House), Parkway Drive continue to prove they’re not done evolving – but Deep Blue still holds a sacred place in the band’s history, and now, in your wardrobe too.
