Post Malone brought Texas pride and full stadium energy to AT&T Stadium on Thanksgiving, delivering a bold, high gloss halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys – Kansas City Chiefs matchup.
The performance doubled as the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Kickoff, and Malone leaned into the moment with a medley that pulled from across his catalogue, from his country era to the hits that made him a household name.
He opened with ‘Wrong Ones’ from his 2024 country album F-1 Trillion, easing into the set with a nod to his newest chapter, from there he snapped straight into fan favourite mode, ripping through ‘Wow.’ as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders stormed the stage in full formation.
Malone then bookended the set with another F-1 Trillion standout, ‘I Had Some Help’, keeping the focus on the reinvention that’s defined his recent run.
Ahead of the show, Malone shared just how much the moment meant to him. “I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” he said in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.”
The Cowboys had teased the performance with a playful promo, Malone and mascot Rowdy barreling into Jerry Jones’ parking spot in a semi truck, before coaxing kicker Brandon Aubrey into signing off on a “delivery.”
In classic Posty fashion, the trailer ended with his rallying cry, “Let’s get big. Like, Texas big.”
Bigger in Texas
Thanksgiving halftime shows at AT&T Stadium have a history of pulling in heavyweights, with Dolly Parton taking the 2023 slot and Lainey Wilson teaming up with Jelly Roll the following year.
Malone’s appearance keeps that streak alive, arriving after a massive year that saw him take his Big Ass Stadium Tour across multiple countries, closing out with two packed nights in London.
Posty’s performance clearly motivated the Cowboys, as they went on to win 31- 28.
