PRESIDENT Confirm New Single ‘Fearless’ Will Drop This Week

Share

Masked mystery act PRESIDENT are gearing up for the second ‘Presidential Address’ (aka single) this Friday with a new song called ‘Fearless.’

Just weeks after storming onto the scene with debut single ‘In The Name of The Father,’ masked artist PRESIDENT is set to drop their second single this Friday.

The act has been cryptically teasing something for days on social media, and finally, we know exactly what it is: ‘Fearless,’ the next track from a band that seemingly blew up online out of nowhere.

Taking to Instagram, PRESIDENT confirmed that “the next Presidential Address, Fearless, will air on YouTube and all streaming platforms” later this week. For Aussie fans (or Citizens, as the band calls them), that shakes out to 9am AEST on Friday – a blessedly normal time, in comparison to the common middle of the night drops from other international acts.

Ever since PRESIDENT’s first single dropped, the internet has been in a frenzy trying to unmask him (and the other members, of whom it’s currently unclear if they’re touring/recording artists or part of the ‘band’). Speaking on remaining anonymous in an exclusive interview with Rock Sound, the frontman says “it’s never going to be acknowledged. Once I have that mask on, I have a different mindset. That’s the person I am. That’s the entity I’m conveying.”

While that statement might have put the internet sleuths (mostly) to rest, PRESIDENT as an act still remains mostly shrouded in mystery. What will the live performances be like? Is there an album on the way? For these questions, at least, we’ll have our answers in due time.

PRESIDENT is set to perform at Download Festival after being announced on the lineup in February despite having no released music. Given we’re now getting a second single this week, it’s likely they’re gearing up towards some sort of larger release – although we won’t know for sure until the masked man himself says so.

Now all that’s left to do between now and Friday is wait and see if this second track hits the same way ‘In The Name of The Father’ did. Be among the faithful, Citizens.
