Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Frontman Tells Trump Supporters to Stay Away From Their Shows

Ronnie Winter of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus says Trump supporters are “not allowed” at the band’s shows, calling out hypocrisy among Christian fans.

Ronnie Winter, frontman of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, has made it crystal clear: if you support Donald Trump, you’re not welcome at their shows.

In a video posted to his Instagram over the weekend, Winter revisited his stance from 2020 and issued a pointed message to fans planning to attend future gigs (transcribed by Lambgoat).

“What’s up? Ronnie from Red Jumpsuit [Apparatus] here, just doing a quick little PSA – I thought I was pretty clear about all this stuff in 2020 – and as you notice my Instagram wall, I did not remove any of that stuff from the, uh – ‘Stay Woke’ campaign I guess you guys are calling it? – from 2020,” he begins.

“Look, man, the thing about being woke is you’re awake. And once you’re awake, you can never go to sleep. And not only has nothing changed, but everything they said was going to happen – the ‘woke’ people – has happened. You have done nothing but prove them right.”

“So here it is again, in case somehow you missed it.  Hi, I’m Ronnie Winter. I sing for the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and I actually follow what Jesus says,” he said. “If you’re a Christian and you’re watching this and you voted for Donald Trump, shame on you. You are not allowed to come to my shows. I don’t want you there.”

Winter continued: “It’s awesome that you love ‘Face Down’. It’s not for you. It is not your song.”

He also emphasised that the shows will continue to reflect values of inclusivity and equality. “If you voted for Donald Trump, do not come to my shows now or ever, not just these four years. Don’t come to my shows because you’re going to hear a lot of ‘woke propaganda,’ and you’re going to hear the actual words of Jesus. You’re going to see a lot of acceptance from all areas of life and races, and you’re just going to see a lot of harmony.”

Winter ended his message by inviting those offended to take advantage of available refunds and to not attend Red Jumpsuit Apparatus gigs – not just for the current political cycle, but permanently. “That’s not what you’re about. Don’t come. Refunds are available. Forever, don’t come. Goodbye.”

One fan replied to Ronnie’s post, saying: “You have your opinions and beliefs. But that doesn’t mean they’re true for everyone…I don’t think your faith has ANYTHING to do with what makes you a good person… kind of sad saying you believe in peace, harmony, acceptance, etc… but then go out tell people that they’re wrong and not welcome at your shows if they don’t go about life the same way you do.”

While some fans pushed back, citing Christian teachings about unconditional love, Winter’s statement underscores his commitment to maintaining Red Jumpsuit Apparatus shows as a safe space for all.
