Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has once again found himself at the centre of controversy, this time seemingly taking aim at Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante.
The drama kicked off after Spiritbox released their latest album, Tsunami Sea. While most fans have praised the record, others have speculated that the track ‘Soft Spine’ is a direct shot at Radke. The theory stems from Spiritbox’s decision to drop off The Popular Monstour last year. This was a move that many believed was due to past allegations against Radke, though the band never officially stated their reasoning.
Radke has now taken to social media, appearing to address the situation. He wrote in response to a fan: “If soft spine is about me I’ll write a song about how she cheated on her husband with Tillian”. And with that, the first grenade had been thrown.
Spiritbox’s withdrawal from The Popular Monstour was a major moment last year, sparking conversations about their stance on touring with controversial artists. The band never publicly addressed the decision, but the fallout left a clear divide among fans. Now, with the release of Tsunami Sea, speculation has reignited over whether ‘Soft Spine’ is their way of responding to Radke.
Neither LaPlante nor Spiritbox have responded to Radke’s remarks, choosing instead to remain silent on the situation. Given their history of avoiding public spats, it’s unlikely they’ll engage with the speculation.
Radke, on the other hand, has never shied away from controversy. Known for his outspoken personality and frequent clashes with other musicians, he thrives in the chaos of online drama. Whether or not ‘Soft Spine’ was meant as a dig at him, he’s made sure to keep the conversation alive.
As it stands, there’s no confirmation from either party that this feud is anything more than fan-driven speculation. But if history is anything to go by, this won’t be the last time Radke stirs the pot. Spiritbox, meanwhile, seem content to let their music do the talking.
