Scowl may be heading our way — if a recent interview with front woman Kat Moss is anything to go by.
While recently speaking to Blunt Magazine, Moss was asked about the band’s plans for the year ahead. “Tour,” she replied without hesitation. “We’ll be playing shows in the U.S., Europe, and elsewhere.” It was that final word — “elsewhere” — that hinted there might be more in the pipeline.
When pressed directly about whether Australia was on the list, Moss didn’t confirm it directly. Instead, she just winked.
It’s not much, but it’s enough to spark speculation. Especially with Scowl’s new album Are We All Angels on the horizon and the band ramping up activity after a steady rise. Their last few years have seen them shift from hardcore outsiders to genre-bending upstarts. They have since played everywhere from basement gigs to Coachella. Given this, a proper Australian run now feels well overdue.
Scowl last played in Australia supporting Turnstile in 2022, a brief but memorable set that left plenty of room for a full return. With a new record coming and a reputation for high-energy, razor-sharp shows, they’re a solid fit for the kinds of rooms that thrive on chaos — and sell out fast.
The rest of the Blunt interview took a characteristically unfiltered turn, with Moss talking about her new obsession with collecting rocks, shells… and trash. “My handbags are full of it,” she admitted. Whether it’s literal or just Moss leaning into her off-kilter sense of humour, it’s clear she’s not following a script — which has always been part of Scowl’s appeal.
Nothing is confirmed yet, but that wink says enough. Australian fans would be wise to keep their ears to the ground. With festival season looming and an album to push, don’t be surprised if Scowl show up sooner rather than later.
