Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy Announce New Album ‘Flying Blind’, Share Title Track

Slash Ft. Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators are back with a new album, and its first single barely existed before the band walked into rehearsal.

Flying Blind, the fifth SMKC studio album, arrives February 26th, 2027, with its title track out now alongside a video filmed at Los Angeles’ Viper Room.

The record is the band’s first full-length since 2022’s 4 and reunites them with producer Michael “Elvis” Baskette, who previously worked on World on Fire and Living the Dream.

Much of the 12 track album was cut live at Baskette’s Studio Barbarosa in Florida. Slash, bassist Todd Kerns, drummer Brent Fitz and rhythm guitarist Frank Sidoris recorded together in the room, with the bulk of the sessions completed in roughly a week. Myles Kennedy added his vocals several months later.

The title track itself was even more immediate.

“Created in the studio while we were standing there in pre-production, a riff came to me and started developing,” Slash says. “I had nothing of that song prior to those guys coming in, and then we started up a night of rehearsal and played that riff. It came together really quickly.”

That stripped-back approach carried through the wider record.

“It’s a really fun, kind of spontaneous rock ’n’ roll record,” Slash says. “It’s very straightforward and down-to-earth and raw.”

There are still a few departures from the familiar SMKC formula. “Looking for a Miracle” marks the first song Slash has written on pedal steel and features his first recorded solo on the instrument, while “Living the Dream” continues the guitarist’s tradition of including an instrumental on Conspirators records.

Elsewhere, Flying Blind stretches from the talk-box and country influence of “Good Time Girl” to the punkier “Here in Babylon” and the ’80s-leaning “Sweet Kill”.

The album arrives 15 years after Slash and Kennedy’s collaboration grew out of Slash’s 2010 self-titled solo record and developed into a permanent band.
