The shroud of mystery surrounding Sleep Token is ostensibly about to lift—at least for a moment.
The enigmatic collective is poised to announce their new single Emergence. It is the first single from their upcoming fourth album, Even in Arcadia, set for release on March 13. Or at least that’s what Instagram page @foxcore have just teased.
This marks the first taste of new material from the band since their breakout 2023 record, Take Me Back to Eden. Known for their cryptic rollouts, Sleep Token have spent weeks teasing something on the horizon. Now, it’s clear: the next chapter begins.
While nothing has yet been confirmed, the post from @foxcore is consistent with an official post from Sleep Token’s Instagram account today. The post reveals a video of a garden with various pink flowers in it. The flowers seem to be blooming, or perhaps, emerging. The caption alongside the post reads, ‘Prepare for an offering’.
Though details on Even in Arcadia remain scarce, Emergence is expected to give fans their first real glimpse into where the band is headed sonically. Given Sleep Token’s past evolution, it’s anyone’s guess what direction they’ll take next.
Sleep Token’s usual method of cryptic messaging and symbolic imagery has been in full effect leading up to this announcement. Their social media channels have been flooded with fragmented visuals, eerie audio snippets, and abstract messages. Fans have speculated on potential themes, with some suggesting Even in Arcadia could be tied to classical art references.
As always, frontman Vessel and the rest of the masked collective remain silent outside of their music, leaving only speculation in their wake. The band’s approach of blurring the lines between anonymity and theatricality has built an almost cult-like following for the band.
If past rollouts are anything to go by, Emergence could just be the beginning. Sleep Token’s previous album cycles have involved carefully plotted releases, with each new track peeling back another layer of their evolving sound.
For now, all eyes are on March 13.
