Sleep Token are professionals at creating an internet frenzy through puzzles and clues. But now, two sites exclusive to German, Swiss, and Austrian fans are counting down to 7pm AEST, Monday 19 May. What exactly are the band cooking up?
Sleep Token have been riding the wave of success in the wake of Even in Arcadia‘s release earlier this month, but it hasn’t stopped the masked heavyweights from continuing to drop mysterious clues that seem to point to something more.
From codes written into lyrics on Apple Music and cryptic posts to social media, fans are pretty sure we’re about to get some news out of Sleep Token camp – and it seems like German fans are in for a first taste of what that is.
RCA Records Germany shared footage from an Even In Arcadia pre-listening event on Instagram, with a cryptic comment reading “Prepare, a new side quest,” alongside links to two .de websites. Both sites feature countdowns ending Monday, May 19 at 11 AM local time for Germans (7pm AEST Monday for Aussies), and a message reading: “A New Offering – Even In Arcadia.”
The sites, thehousemustendure.de and thecyclemustend.de, have sparked speculation — is this a Europe-only drop? Bonus tracks? Tour dates? It’s worth noting that Sleep Token is on the Rock Im Park lineup, set to kick off next month in Germany, so there’s plenty of scope for a related announcement.
It’s not yet clear exactly what news will drop, although given the region-specific sites, it’s likely this may not be the big global reveal fans are speculating on. However, with the band posting “The Battle Continues” to Instagram on Friday, it’s possible Sleep Token fans across the world could be in for something, too – whether that’s revealed tonight, or down the track.
