When The Amity Affliction released Everyone Loves You…Once You Leave Them last year, it didn’t quite hit as hard as they deserved it to. The reason behind that was the great unpleasantness that has been the coronavirus pandemic, which benched the Aussie metalcore legends indefinitely. Finally, with our fingers crossed and hopefully a little legwork from Dan Andrews between now and July, the band can embark on the album celebration they deserved to have in the first place.
Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them is the seventh studio album from the outfit, released in February just before the absolute state of crisis that has been going since March. It was the first long-player the act released through Pure Noise Records, and was produced by Matt Squire, the man behind Panic! At The Disco’s debut record, three All Time Low ones and the predecessor to this release from Amity, Misery.
Speaking to Blunt Magazine last year prior to album release day, bassist and clean vocalist Ahren Stringer reflected on where Amity are at in 2021. “Everyone’s got their own job,” he laughed. “Dan writes all the music. Joel writes all the lyrics and I just get to pick my favourite lyrics and put them to my favourite songs.”
With support from WAAX, Void of Vision and Nerve Damage, the tour will hit all the major cities (including Perth, of course).
