American pop-punk acts The Early November and hellogoodbye have expanded their co-headlining 20 Years Young world tour to Australia, with three east-coast dates planned for March 2027.
The tour, as its name suggests, is a joint birthday party of sorts to celebrate the 20th anniversary of both band’s respective 2006 albums: The Mother, The Mechanic, and The Path for The Early November, and Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! for hellogoodbye.
Notably, this run marks the first tour for either act locally in over a decade. The Early November last performed in Australia back in 2016, supporting Mayday Parade, while hellogoodbye last graced our shores circa 2011. “We can’t believe it’s been 10 years,” wrote The Early November in a joint press statement.
“We are beyond excited to soak in the beautiful scenics, reconnect with old friends, and celebrate this special album. While we’re at it, we might as well play some [other] favorites, old and new. We are so grateful to be back!”
hellogoodbye, for their part, noted that they had “been missing Australia quite terribly” – a reference to their hit single ‘Here (In Your Arms)’ – in their own press statement. “[We’re] excited to be triumphantly returning to celebrate our first album, playing it in full plus favorites from over two decades,” they wrote.
The Mother, The Mechanic, and The Path was originally released in July 2006, and marked The Early November’s second studio album. The two-hour-plus triple album reportedly took over a year to write and record, and featured the singles ‘Decoration’ and ‘Hair’.
Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, meanwhile, was released a month later in August 2006. It peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200, and also topped the US Independent Albums chart. Alongside the aforementioned ‘Here (In Your Arms)’, the album also featured the singles ‘All of Your Love’ and ‘Baby, It’s Fact’.
