The Preatures Announce ‘Blue Planet Eyes’ 10th Anniversary Tour

Share

The Preatures are back. And not just for a one-off this time.

After selling out Sydney’s Lansdowne Hotel in six minutes last year, the band has now confirmed a full-blown national tour to mark 10 years of Blue Planet Eyes. That Lansdowne show was the thing that lit the fuse. So now they’re hitting 15 cities across the country. There they will be playing the album front to back with a few deep cuts and crowd favourites thrown in.

For those who remember Blue Planet Eyes landing in 2014, it felt like a jolt. The slick blend of R&B grit and rock swagger. Tracks like ‘Is This How You Feel?’ and ‘Somebody’s Talking’ were inescapable for good reason—they had that elusive thing. The record went Top 5 on the ARIA chart, picked up four ARIA nods, and put The Preatures in front of festival crowds and late-night talk shows alike.

But like most good things, the momentum hit a wall. The band eventually called it a day. Since then, front woman Isabella Manfredi has since dropped a solo album whilst raising a kid. The rest of the band too have also moved into new chapters—families, other projects, life.

Now, the full original lineup is back—including Gideon Bensen, who left the band in 2016. This makes the run far more than just a nostalgia circuit. It’s a full reset. A reminder. A band that once felt too big for the rooms they were in, stepping back in with nothing to prove but everything to give.

Joining them are The Tullamarines and Bec Sandridge, depending on the stop. Tickets are on sale Friday April 11 at 9am local time via thepreatures.com.
