Thy Art Is Murder have released ‘Squeeze’, their first single with new vocalist Jerry Grimefeld, and announced three intimate Australian headline shows for December.
Out now through Human Warfare, the track follows months of Grimefeld fronting the band onstage without a formal introduction.
He played his first show with Thy Art Is Murder at Melbourne’s Life’s A Beach festival earlier this year, then joined them on the European summer festival circuit.
The December dates will mark his first Australian headline run with the band, moving through Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane across three consecutive nights.
Jerry Grimefeld on joining Thy Art Is Murder
Grimefeld was a fan long before he took the microphone, crediting Hate with setting him on the path that eventually brought him into the band.
“Thy Art Is Murder has influenced me more than any other band in the world. Hate sent me down the path I’m on today, so being part of this band now is surreal. I’m blessed to be here, and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re about to get ignorant with it”.
With those European shows already behind him, ‘Squeeze’ gives listeners a chance to hear Grimefeld on new material after his introduction through the band’s existing catalogue.
Thy Art Is Murder have been recording between tours, with the single offering the first taste of that work with their new vocalist. An album title and release date have not been announced.

For Australian fans who missed Grimefeld’s first appearance at Life’s A Beach, the run offers a chance to catch the lineup at home after its months on the European festival circuit.
