Tickets from Dogma’s cancelled Australian tour will now be valid for former members’ new band VindictA’s upcoming Aussie gigs.
Tickets originally purchased for Dogma’s cancelled Australian tour will now be accepted at shows by VindictA, the new band formed by several former members of Dogma. The move comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding Dogma and its management, which escalated throughout the past few months and ultimately led to the tour’s cancellation (or postponement, if we’re going off the statement).
Dogma’s first ever Australian tour was postponed in November by promoter Hardline Media. At the time, the promoter cited concerns about the situation surrounding the band, stating, “We only want to promote the band we, and you, thought we were getting.”
The decision followed public statements from multiple former members who alleged they were underpaid, lied to, manipulated, and mistreated by the band’s management – on top of claims of unfair contracts and firings.
The situation intensified in early December when Dogma co-founder Alvaro Rabaquino, also known as The Dark Messiah, issued a statement of his own against the band’s management. Rabaquino said he was responsible for songwriting, artistic direction, and performing many early instrumental tracks. In his statement shared on December 3rd, he said, “Dogma was taken from its creators, stripped of its identity, and redirected to serve one man’s agenda, far from the music and far from the truth.”
Rabaquino also revealed he teamed up with other former Dogma members who have since formed VindictA on their newest track ‘The Face Of The Clown.’ It doesn’t appear that The Dark Messiah himself is part of the band’s lineup though – he’s noted as a feature on the track, and isn’t mentioned in the lineup on the Aussie tour announcement.
VindictA as it stands consists of former Dogma members Grace Jane Pasturini (vocals), Amber Maldonado (guitar), and Patri Grief (guitar).
Hardline Media confirmed that tickets sold for Dogma’s cancelled Australian dates will be honoured at VindictA’s newly announced Australian tour.
In a post from December 17th, the promoter announced VindictA’s inaugural Reckoning tour, set to visit Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in June. The post reads: “NOTE TO DOGMA TICKET HOLDERS – Your Dogma GA ticket remains valid for the VindictA shows. VIP’s are to be purchased as an upgrade.”
The promoter added that VindictA’s live shows will combine new material with selected Dogma songs previously performed by the members, including material from Gospel I, presented with a renewed concept and sound.
Dogma addressed the cancellation of their Australian tour on November 23rd, confirming the shows were cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control and that all tickets and meet and greets would be refunded at the original point of purchase. The band also noted they were discussing the possibility of returning to Australia in the future.
