Turnstile are officially back. The Baltimore outfit have confirmed their fourth album NEVER ENOUGH is set for release on June 6, with the title track now streaming.
The record is the band’s first full-length release since GLOW ON turned heads in 2021. That record pulled the band out of hardcore’s sweaty back rooms into the wider spotlight. The record also blurred genre lines in a way few bands have managed to pull off without ever sounding calculated. With NEVER ENOUGH, they’re not walking it back.
The new single also builds on the band’s melodic turn. From shimmering guitar lines and soaring vocal hooks, the song sounds fresh but also not too far from the path. There’s also just enough punch to remind you where they came from. It’s still Turnstile, just now stretching that little bit further. Brendan Yates produced the record himself, and it certainly shows. There’s clarity in the chaos, but by no means is it glossed-up polish.
In the years since GLOW ON, the band dropped a surprise EP with BADBADNOTGOOD (New Heart Designs) and landed a track on I Think You Should Leave. Which, in hindsight, was a perfect match for their weird, wired energy.
Turnstile have also lined up a heavy run of tour dates for 2025. These include Glastonbury, Hellfest, Primavera Porto, and an Outbreak Festival set in London alongside Knocked Loose, Alex G, Julie, and Danny Brown. It goes without saying, Turnstile are clearly not content with being anyone’s nostalgia act or hardcore throwback. They’re still fully in it.
While NEVER ENOUGH comes with vague descriptors like “transformative” and “genre-defying,” the single says enough. It’s big, bright, and confident. So, if this is the direction they’re locked into, it’s clear that Turnstile are not looking back.
