WAAX Are Bringing The UR A RAT Tour To The East Coast With Jerry Can & A Van

WAAX have hit the road for Jerry Can & A Van with the UR A RAT tour, featuring Worm Girlz and more.

With their first release in three years now out in the world, WAAX have hit the road for their long-awaited return. The Brisbane band’s ‘UR A RAT’ tour kicked off at The Brightside in their hometown on 29 August, and is now preparing to make stops in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Frankston through September.

The run forms part of Jerry Can & A Van 2025, presented by Sailor Jerry and Yours and Owls. Leaner, louder, and stripped back to intimate rooms, WAAX will deliver their rawest shows yet, led by frontwoman Maz De Vita.

“This tour is about reclaiming WAAX in the most raw, honest way possible, and teaming up with Lauren felt like the perfect fit – we’re both driven by creativity, connection, and strong female energy,” Maz says. “Tattoos have always been a part of how I connect with fans; they’re like permanent time stamps on our shared experiences. To bring that element into the live show feels really special.”

“Starting the tour in my hometown of Brisbane makes it even more meaningful. This new chapter is all about evolution and empowerment, and I’m so excited to share it up close with everyone. Massive thanks to Sailor Jerry and Yours and Owls for backing this wild ride and giving us the space to bring it all to life.”

Sydney will also feature a one-day flash tattoo pop-up with celebrity artist Lauren Winzer, joining Maz for exclusive designs.

Support comes from Worm Girlz across all shows, alongside a handpicked mix of locals: Mannequin Death Squad and Seeing Violet kicked things off in Brisbane; Machine on a Break and Spouse in Canberra; GRXCE and Club Halifax in Sydney; and Cheap-Skate and Sick Visor across Melbourne and Frankston.

Tickets to catch WAAX remain on sale at $39.95 plus booking fee, with door prices at $45.
