Watch Poppy Join Linkin Park Onstage For ‘One Step Closer’ Performance In Colombia

Share

Poppy joined Linkin Park to perform ‘One Step Closer’ during their South American tour kickoff at Bogotá’s Vive Claro on Saturday.

Linkin Park kicked off the South American leg of their world tour at Bogotá’s Vive Claro on October 25, bringing a surprise guest to the stage. Poppy, who is supporting the band for the entire run, joined them for a charged performance of ‘One Step Closer.’

According to setlist.fm, the concert was structured into four acts with an encore, and the collaboration took place at the end of Act II, between ‘IGYEIH’ and ‘Lost’. While neither artist appeared to give a formal introduction before the performance, Poppy hugged co-vocalist Emily Armstrong near the end of the song, moments before Mike Shinoda shouted, “Make some noise for Poppy!”

Poppy’s addition to the track elevated the classic nu-metal anthem, with her intense screams powering through the “‘Cause I’m one step closer to the edge / And I’m about to break” line, while Armstrong handled the clean chorus vocals. The energy between the two vocalists was palpable, and fan-shot footage from the night shows the crowd responding with loud approval as Poppy roared through the verses.

The show also featured a balanced mix of new and old material. Linkin Park performed several songs from their 2024 album From Zero, including ‘The Emptiness Machine,’ ‘Heavy Is the Crown,’ ‘Over Each Other,’ ‘Overflow,’ and ‘Stained.’ Longtime fans were treated to staples like ‘Crawling,’ ‘Somewhere I Belong,’ ‘The Catalyst,’ ‘Waiting for the End,’ and ‘Numb,’ along with Shinoda’s Fort Minor track ‘Where’d You Go.’

The Bogotá concert marked the first stop on Linkin Park’s South American tour, which will see them and Poppy continue across major cities through November. The band are also set to hit Australia in March next year – although whether we’ll get any on-stage team ups from the yet-to-be-announced supports is anyone’s guess.
