Canadian punks White Lung are living proof that the phrase, “Third time’s the charm” is total bullshit. That’s not because their first three records sucked – they were fucking killer, mind you – but LP4, Paradise, simply destroys everything that came before it. The unforgiving and inescapable opus dropped back in May and hasn’t since let us free of its tight grip, some choice cuts demanding office replays almost daily.
The band are set to make their way Down Under in January to melt our minds at the Laneway Festival, (hopefully) taking to the mainstage in Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland, Adelaide, Sydney and Fremantle. But, for those not all that keen on the festival scene, White Lung have announced three juicy sideshows – along their travels, they’ll take to clubs in Melbourne, Wollongong and Sydney.
Melbourne sludge-punks Batpiss are set to join them in their hometown, with Sydney rockers Phantastic Ferniture hitting that show and the Newtown Social set. Tickets are on sale now, but don’t expect them to make it through the weekend.
