Winger are calling it a day, but not before giving Australia a proper send-off first.
The hard rock veterans have announced their farewell tour, bringing the original lineup down under for the first and last time.
Kip Winger (vocals, bass), Reb Beach (guitar), Rod Morgenstein (drums), Paul Taylor (guitar, keyboards), and John Roth (guitar) will hit Australian stages in April 2025. I would expect a career-spanning setlist, deep cuts, and all the hits that made them a staple of late-’80s and early-’90s rock.
Formed in 1987, Winger made an instant impact with their triple-platinum debut album, spawning classics like Seventeen, Headed for a Heartbreak, and Madalaine. Their follow-up, In the Heart of the Young, kept the momentum going with Miles Away and Can’t Get Enuff. Their latest release, Seven, dropped in 2023, proving they’ve still got plenty of fuel left in the tank.
Despite shifting trends, Winger have stuck around thanks to their technical prowess, massive hooks, and an unapologetic dedication to their craft. Over the years, the members have built impressive resumes—Reb Beach has played with Whitesnake, Rod Morgenstein with the Dixie Dregs, Paul Taylor with Alice Cooper, John Roth with Giant and Starship, and Kip Winger has even picked up a Grammy nomination for his orchestral work.
This will be the first time Aussie fans get to see Winger’s classic lineup in full force, and the last chance to witness them live before they hang it up for good.
Melbourne’s Shotgun Mistress will open all shows, bringing their blend of classic and modern rock to the mix. The pre-sale begins on 7 February 9am and runs until 10 February 5pm. General on-sale begins at 10 February 9am. Tickets can be accessed here.
